Today, I got a chance to interview Regitse Rosenvinge – a travel freak and the founder of www.thecopenhagentraveler.com She loves writing about hotels and hospitality, and in 2018, she launched her content writing and marketing agency www.room22.agency. She has also been the ambassador for several travel & lifestyle brands throughout the past 3 years. Samsonite, Samsung, and Bolinder Stockholm are just a few of them.
Greenland is one of her favorite destinations and she is simply in awe with its beauty, purity, and rawness. Switzerland is yet another country that has left a deep mark in her mind. She would feel more than happy to come back here several times.
When asked what inspires her the most; she blissfully replied that the desire to feel the earth beneath her feet and connect with other cultures and customs motivates her to explore the world.
Through her blog, she shares her travel stories and tries to inspire budding globetrotters. In 2016, www.thecopenhagentraveler.com was nominated as one of the world’s best luxury travel blogs by TBCAsia.
Which Country recently blew your mind away ?
Not recently per say, but a few years back, I visited Greenland for the first time. I have never come across so much beauty, purity and rawness in one! The Greenlandic people have a very special connection to Mother Earth, which I find not only important, but also very beautiful in our modern world. We could learn a lot from them!
What inspires you the most to travel ? How do you choose the future destinations you want to visit?
To feel the earth beneath my feet, connect with other cultures and customs – and to gather inspiration for my work. I feel most free and alive when traveling.
If you could travel with anyone in the world who would it be and why?
If he was still alive; Ernest Hemingway, because I’m sure he could tell some incredible stories and make a good cocktail J Otherwise, I’d have to say my son. He’s still very young, but once he gets a little older, I’ll show him my own favorite countries!
Have you ever liked a place so much that you went back second time?
Several times – and with several places! I used to live in Switzerland, which is still one of my own favorite countries. I can always go back here. In Europe, I basically visited a lot of countries twice or more, but outside of Europe, I’d have to say the US. I’m a big fan of California (both North and South) and have very fond memories of watching the most extraordinary sunsets in e.g. Santa Barbara and at Venice Beach.
What brands or sites have you worked with while travelling as a travel blogger?
Quite a few.
Why do you write (for money/connecting with people/therapeutic/fun)?
I write because I can’t help it. It’s in my blood. I’ve writte since I was 7 years old, and that eventually turned into travel writing. I guess you can say it’s kind of therapeutic for me.
Are you earning a stable income through travel blogging?
Yes and no. Unfortunately, I don’t have so much time to blog as before, but I still prioritize it in my weekly schedule. Earning a stable income through travel blogging is certainly possible, but you have to put in a lot of energy and effort. It’s a business like any other.
What is a little cheeky/naughty/funny/ travel secret you have not openly told before!?
If I told you, I guess it wouldn’t be a secret anymore, would it… J I have a lot of fun memories from most of my trips, but secrets as such… not really.
If you could go anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would it be?
Probably to a quiet Greek island with my family.
What are your top 5 tips to get the ultimate travel photo?
I’m more a writer than a photographer, but I do know that good photography takes a lot of patience and focus. Go early in the morning to avoid the masses and get the right light – or plan for an epic sunset session using the right equipment.
